Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right wig?
Choosing the right wig depends on your lifestyle, comfort preferences, and desired look. Consider factors like cap construction, hair type (synthetic vs. human hair), length, color, and style. I am here to help you find the perfect match!
What's the difference between synthetic and human hair wigs?
Synthetic wigs are pre-styled and maintain their style even after washing, making them low-maintenance. Human hair wigs offer the most natural look and can be styled with heat tools, colored, and treated just like your own hair. Keep in mind that Human hair wigs also need more maintenance than synthetic wigs.
How do I care for my wig?
Proper care extends the life of your wig. Gently brush (with a wide-tooth comb or wig brush) before and after wearing. Always start at the bottom first. Wash with wig-specific products. Air dry on a wig stand and store properly when not in use. I am happy to provide detailed care instructions for your specific wig type.
Tip: I recommend that you ONLY use a wide tooth comb or specific wig brush for styling and detangling your wig.
What are hair toppers and who are they for?
Hair toppers are smaller hairpieces designed to add volume and coverage to specific areas, particularly the crown and top of the head. They're perfect for those experiencing thinning hair or partial hair loss who want to keep their natural hair.
How do I measure for a wig?
Measure the circumference of your head by taking your tape starting at the front of the head and around the nape. Next, from ear to ear across the top about 7 inches back from the front of your hairline. Finally, from front to back, measure from the front of your hairline to the nape of your head. Most wigs have adjustable straps for a customized fit.
Can I style my wig?
Synthetic wigs should not be styled with heat tools unless they're heat-friendly. When styling Heat-friendly wigs, begin with 280 and never go above 320. Human hair wigs can be styled just like natural hair with curling irons, straighteners, and other heat tools. When styling Human hair wigs never use a heat tool above 350*.
How long do wigs last?
With proper care, synthetic wigs typically last 4-6 months with daily wear, while human hair wigs can last a year or longer.
How do I care for a Synthetic wig?
Washing & Conditioning
Detangle: Before washing, gently comb out knots with a wide-tooth comb, starting from the ends.
Shampoo: Rinse under cool, running water (root to end). ONLY use a Synthetic friendly Shampoo. Apply shampoo, and gently coat cap and fibers using a downward motion. Then rinse thoroughly until water runs clear.
Condition: Apply conditioner from mid-lengths to ends, again in a downward motion & avoiding the cap base. Then rinse thoroughly until water runs clear.
Blot & Dry: Gently squeeze out excess water (don't wring!). Lay flat on a towel and dry by gently pressing down to blot out any water. Place on a wig stand and allow to air dry
Daily & Storage Care
Wear: Don't sleep in your wig; friction causes tangles.
Refresh: After awhile your synthetic wig will need a refresh on the ends. Take a flat iron and set it at no more than 280* (use a heat tool that shows temperature settings) and with little sections, touch up the ends. It will smooth out the frizziness/crunchy feeling.
Store: Always use a wig stand or mannequin head to maintain shape or you can store it back in it's box. (Make sure it is dry.)
Key Tips
- Frequency: Wash every 10-15 wears or as needed, not too often.
- Tools: Use wig brushes/wide-tooth combs; avoid regular brushes.
- Water: Cool water is best.

Blot & Dry: Gently squeeze out excess water (don't wring!). Lay flat on a towel and dry by gently pressing down to blot out any water. Place on a wig stand and air dry, or use a blow dryer on low/medium heat with a heat protectant. (avoiding the cap base)
